We make a few rest stops along the way, which gives you the opportunity to see the ethnic minority groups of Hmong, Khmu, Black Thai and Lu; Hmong hilltribe people. We arrive in Nong Khiaw at around lunch time.

The afternoon will be spent to relax with the tubing along the gentle Nam Ou River. We depart from your hotel at 3pm and head off upstream via boat for around 20 minutes.  Along the journey up the river we stop off at Sop Van Village which is home to the Tai Lue people. The village is located right next to the river, opposite the village on the river bank is a farm which is home to many different types of animal including Pigs, Chickens, Ducks, and Buffalo. We pay them a visit so it is worthwhile bringing some food along if you would like to feed them and surely very appreciated by both the animals and the villagers.
